Help Build a Library

There are no carpentry skills required here, just a willingness to give some cash to the organization Room to Read.

On the Writermorphosis blog, Janelle has started an interesting project.  For every two words she writes between February and April she will donate one cent to Room to Read.  It takes $2500 to build a library, so if 50 writers join her and all write at least 10,000 words in that time, then they can build one library.  Please read her post to get all of the information.

Janelle also mentions getting sponsors to pledge to give depending on how many words you write.  Kind of like runners do for charity 5K races.

It's also an excellent way to push ourselves into writing more words between February and April.  So let's get those pens out and start building!

Beverley,

Thanks for joining me in the challenge to donate money for Room to Read through our writing.

I was thrilled to see your post!

Please keep passing the word on. I'd love to see this idea take off.

Let me know how many words you get. Will you beat me or will I beat you? Hmmm... : )

No problem, Janelle! Thanks for starting the challenge. I love the idea that I can help build a library and I'm sure other writers will feel that way as well.
